Crime of the Week

Threat at Pickaway-Ross March 15, 2010

On Tuesday, a student entered the boy’s restroom and left a note that threatened serious physical harm to our school, the student body, and the staff at Pickaway-Ross. These actions were not only an annoyance and inconvenience, but they caused alarm and fear throughout the school. These actions also caused an emergency response from safety forces in Ross County. We are fortunate that no one was injured because of the criminal behavior of one student.

This type of threat must, and is, being taken very seriously by the Pickaway-Ross staff and local law enforcement officials. Now is the time for you to do something if you know anything about the incident. It is time to step up and do the right thing; this was no joke, this was o laughing matter, as this was a crime.

If you know anything about the incident, please talk to a trusted teacher or administrator. You may drop a tip in the Student Crime Stopper box located inside the main entrance of the school. Or you may leave information on the Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers Tip Line at: 1.800.222.TIPS
