What area or committee of crime prevention interests you most?
- Law Enforcement: assisting with tip management between agencies and maintaining statistical crime data, may involve some research to determine tip reward eligibility
- Student Programs: helping schools implement a local student crime stopper program
- Crime Prevention Education: coordinating classes and/or events for community awareness
- Larry Cox Turkey Trot 5k Run / 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk: volunteering for hands-on support the day of the run, managing registrations and mail lists, preparing t-shirt orders, working with sponsors for marketing support, making sure all banners and signage is accurate, coordinating event with Chillicothe Parks & Recreation, and seeing that all insurance is up to date as well as working with local running club for race day management
- Communications: coordinates data between committees for tracking data and information as well as keeping our status current with Crime Stoppers USA/International and other chapters --technical skills are a plus
- Website: coordinating efforts between webmaster and SOCS to ensure website is up to date, e-commerce is complete, promoting the sponsorship of the site and that most wanted cases are posted as well as other site page management
- Membership: represents SOCS at events and functions to recruit new members and volunteers, keeps records of members, maintains lists of members and volunteers and calls propective businesses and individuals for event attendance and sponsorship
- Marketing: creates banners, logos, signage, brochures, advertising, etc. for other committee/organizational use
What type of membership are you applying for?

- President - Guides the board in making decisions for all committee requests/recommendations. Oversees entire operations for accuracy. Works with Ross County Commissioners, with the Prosecuting Atty's office, with Crime Stopper's USA/International, with local and regional law enforcement, and local businesses. Is responsible for our 501c3 tax status and filing.
- Vice-President - Assists the President with coordination between all committees. Will direct any meeting where the President is unable to preside. Checks the post office box regularly and distributes mail accordingly. Runs errands and makes follow-up calls as needed.
- Treasurer - prepares monthly report of deposits, expenses for tips, general, and student accounts. Prepares tax summaries for accountant. Deposits all contributions and pays expenses upon approval of board. Signs tipster debit memos at the bank for tipster payments. Tracks registration payments for all events
- Secretary - Creates minutes for each meeting, records lists for mailings, membership directory, and sponsors. Maintains email lists as well as other duties
- Member: as a general member, you may be asked to work with any committee in meeting the needs of SOCS, voting priviledges.
- Volunteer Only: works for special events such as the breakfast and turkey trot, no voting rights.
